If you’re wondering what’s the best way to prepare kids for family photos, follow these three tips to set them up for success.

1. Schedule Less

I know we are all busy, but try to schedule less so your kids aren’t tired and overstimulated. If they still nap, stick to their routine. ⁣⁣⁣

2. Snack Ahead of Time

Give your kids a meal or snack ahead of family photos. Do not wait and push it until after the session. Full belly = happy kid⁣⁣⁣! Same goes for parents too! 😉

3. Provide Positivity & Praise

There isn’t anything your kid can do wrong during family photos. I expect to pivot and adjust at each session with young kids and you should too! As a parent, I get it. As a photographer, I encourage you to redirect with gentle reminders during the session to keep the mood light and loving.
