Top 5 Locations for Fall Photos in Fort Worth, TX

Family

The kids are returning to school, the leaves are starting to change and the temperature outside is tolerable (thank you Texas summers!), it is the perfect time to capture beautiful fall photos of your family.

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing countless families and discovered some session locations that provide consistently beautiful backdrops for fall family photos! Whether you’re looking for trees, open fields, or cool architecture, these locations offer the perfect setting for your fall photos around Fort Worth.

Here are my top 5 recommendations:

Dutch Branch Park

Dutch Branch Park is a hidden gem when it comes to fall photo sessions in Benbrook, TX. Its beautiful treeline filters the harsh lighting and is perfect for photos at any time of day. Plus, the Dutch Branch has plenty of parking that is a short walk to the photo spot, making it easy for families with young children.

Pecan Valley Park

If you’re dreaming of an open, spacious setting, Pecan Valley Park is your go-to location. This park features wide-open fields, providing an unobstructed canvas for your family photos. The open space allows for natural, candid shots in addition to posed shots, with plenty of room for the kids to run around and play.

Kimbell Art Museum

Looking for a modern backdrop? The Kimbell Art Museum is a great option. The museum provides a more polished environment that features families against a backdrop of refreshing architecture, water features, and dreamy vine-covered walls.

Tandy Hills

Tandy Hills Natural Area is a great location if you’re looking for photos that show off the Fort Worth skyline. While there are a few limitations with this location like limited shooting locations and needing to walk only on designated pathways, Tandy Hills has beautiful foliage and is a great spot for fall family photos.

Indoor Studios

One thing to consider when scheduling your family photos is the weather. Living in Texas, we know that while the weatherman may have told us it would be 75 and sunny all week there is a very real possibility of that changing at a moment’s notice. That’s why when you’re looking for a more climate-controlled environment, indoor studios are an excellent choice!

Luckily for us, there are several studio locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex that are perfect shooting locations for fall photos. Most of the studios provide a clean, fresh backdrop making it an ideal place to capture timeless portraits.

Another perk of a studio family session is that the space is a bit more confined compared to outdoor locations. Studios provide some peace of mind – you don’t have to worry about your little ones wandering off and can relax and enjoy your family session.
