A recent motherhood photo session struck a cord with me, my client and so many other moms on Instagram. This session was an artistic expression of motherhood in its boldest and most tender forms. The focus was on the mom. I wanted to highlight her multifaceted role in life. Every detail, including her outfit, poses, and expressions were to amplify the emotions I wished to convey.

Styling for emotion in a motherhood photo session

I wanted the styling to be both striking and heartwarming. For the mom, I selected business casual attire, mixed with a lacy bra. Since I wanted the focus to be on motherhood, I kept things simple with the baby and requested just a diaper, cradled her arms.

As a photographer, it is inspiring to see how the right outfit and styling can elevate a session and bring an emotion to life. The blazer accentuated the strength and determination and the tender way she held her sweet baby revealed a nurturing spirit.
